We will be rebooting Blue Earth this Sunday at 20:00. This is so that we can apply crtical server updates.

As it's a Bank Holiday, it is the best time to do this.

Sometimes it is neccessary to reboot the server, much as we would rather not do this, we are scheduling a reboot for 8 PM UK time today.

This will mean some down time of up to around 10 mins, no email will be lost.

As some of our customers may be aware, Google's Project Zero team recently discovered a vulnerability related to all Intel-based systems running world-wide, Basically, there's a security flaw with the way in which the CPUs deal with virtual memory processing: https://meltdownattack.com/

In order to protect you, we will need to reboot our servers, which we will schedule in waves, and out of business hours. All customers will receive notification via email with their scheduled reboot time and do not need to do anything once the time comes.

Server access issues (Resolved)

We are currently looking into a server outage on the Blue Earth server BIG.

We shall update you at the earliest.

14:46 - This is still currently ongoing, we now have our Data Centre looking into the issue 

15:16 - It would appear that a Cloud Linux update has caused a temporary server outage. We have the data centre technicians working on it.

15:40 - We are still waiting for our Data Centre to bring us back on line. It would appear this issue has affected many servers.

16:02 The server is coming back online, but there may be some delays while it  catches up with the back log. We are monitoring it closely.

Issues on Soul this morning (Resolved)

We are currently experiencing problems on Blue Earth soul server. We are working on it now, and will keep you posted as soon as it's back up.

Mail is back up now, though cPanel webmail may still be affected. I shall update ASAP when cPanel is working as it should.

This now seems to be clear. We are looking into what happened, so we can mitigate this happening again.

Blue Earth Issues (Resolved)

Today we have become a victim of a sustained DDOS attack. We are currently doing all we can to mitigate the attack, and will keep you all posted.

This is the info from our network providers.

'It's one of the largest attacks we've seen in terms of IPs involved and totalled more than 1,000,000 sources.'

What this means is that 1 million virtual users are attacking Blue Earth all at the same time. This means, as you can see, that nothing works. We have software and hardware to help prevent this, and we are doing all we can to get everything back up and running.

14:20 We are currently having hardware installed at the data centre to help solve this issue.
